- Gerardo Nuñez masterclass in London
At the beginning of November 08, Gerardo Nuñez gave a performance at a swish new venue in King's Cross, King's Place. The following morning he gave a master class for 6 guitarists and 14 observers. Needless to say, I joined the ranks of the observers!
Gerardo was very gracious and encouraging to all the players. And in just two hours he got through an amazing amount of material - Bulerías, Rumba, Guajiras, Colombiana, plus some technique stuff - rasgueado and alzapua. You had to be fast to keep up with it all. But he was very relaxed, with a nice personality, and no airs and graces despite his fame and reputation.

Luke, David and Henry, all members of Foro Flamenco, all kept up with the fast pace really well, and took turns to improvise with him. But my most proud moment was when he asked me to come and sit at the front and play palmas while he played.
